Leadership Assistance Program (LeAP)
Great Part-Time Job – Year-round! Ideal for college students, retirees, or anyone looking to supplement their income
Do you enjoy working with youth? Do you like to have fun? Are you looking for a job that is rewarding? We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic people who can work independently. A positive attitude and high energy are desired.
Program hours:
• Up to 25 hours/week
• Summer hours available
Responsibilities:
• Provide after school scouting programs in local elementary schools and summer programs in Denver and Aurora.
• Training provided by Boy Scouts of America
• Bilingual a plus but not required
Compensation:
• $15/hour
• Gas stipend
• Bonuses
Expectations:
• Must have reliable vehicle and insurance – you will commute to each job site
• Availability between 2:00 – 6:00 PM, daily during school year. Summer hours vary.
• Must have a commitment to work with underserved youth

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Help oversee the successful implementation of program to develop youth in the areas of character, citizenship, personal fitness, and leadership.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Youth Development
• Help support programs at assigned site
• Establishing and sustaining positive, meaningful relationships with members
• Encourage leadership through positive reinforcement
Program Development & Implementation
• Implement programs and activities, which include but are not limited to:
• Character & Citizenship
• Healthy Lifestyles
• Outdoor Stewardship
• Cultural Enrichment
• Assist executives with updates to lesson plans
• Help executives plan, implement, and staff special events
Supervision
• Ensure that members are always accounted for
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members
• Help members resolve problems and conflicts
• Provide an environment which ensures the emotional and physical safety of members at all times
• Keep track of attendance
Additional Responsibilities
• Help maintain facility, equipment and supplies
• Contribute to recruitment and retention of youth
• Build, maintain, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders (i.e., guardians, parents, teachers, school administration)
• Contribute to a productive work environment by working together with fellow team members
• Complete all mandatory trainings
• Attend mandatory staff meetings
• Assist with any activity reports that are needed
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
• High School Diploma required. College experience desirable
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems
• Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment
• Experience working with youth ages 6-18 preferred
• Background Check
• Bilingual (Spanish/Swahili) is a plus but not required
