Boulder, Colorado has conducted several working groups on homelessness in order to understand what's the best way to solve it for both the community and the individual that's homeless in Boulder.

Homeless Services & Shelters

Homeless services in Boulder, Colorado. The Ready to Work homeless program and shelter opened in 2015. Potential residents of Ready to Work aren't required to be a resident  in Boulder to become a resident of the Ready to Work program. Ready to Work was developed by Isabel McDevitt who is the current CEO of Bridge House in Boulder.
The phone number is a direct line to Bridge House.

Ready to Work's priority from day one is to transition residents into housing and prepare them for employment. Each resident of Ready to Work will have generated 1-year of rental history which will show up on a credit report. When a person is homeless it becomes very difficult to find housing but Ready to Work ensures that each resident that completes their program has their rent payments reflected on the credit reports. Ready to Work has numerous work opportunities from working with Boulder Housing Partners, Naropa at CU, Community Table Kitchen, Boulder Parks Rec, Open Space Parks & Trails, and Property Maintenance, and several more.

Bridge House is always improving their Ready to Work program so contact Ready to Work by phone (or foot) for the most up-to-date information on their program.

What is Step 13?

The original meaning of "step 13" and the "13th step" is any person in a 12 step recovery program like AA, NA, or CA who sexually preys on people in the program who have under 1 year of clean time.

A real schedule on the walls of the Ready to Work facility. This schedule provides guidance to new residents and reminders for ongoing residents of the program. A typical duration of stay at Ready to Work is between 6-months to 1-year depending on the individual program requirements. In most cases a shorter stay at Ready to Work is due to the resident being given a referral. A smaller but similar program like Ready to Work is the Path to Home program which is also located in Boulder and a program developed by Isabel McDevitt the CEO of Bridge House in Boulder, Colorado.

Exploring the twists and turns of Denver's Golden Triangle Creative District at night.  The Denver Golden Triangle Creative District covers a large area from around Speer Blvd all the way across Broadway to Lincoln St. Between there are the static parts of the Denver Golden triangle Creative District such as the Art Institute of Denver, the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum Residences and even hard-to-miss places like the Art Hotel on Broadway but between the permanent fixtures of the Denver Creative District are the streets and alleys that connect everything and walking off the beaten path through these twists and turns can sometimes become an adventure all its own.
