Denver continues to remain a welcoming city for all migrants at the city’s Reception Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days per week. Currently 4,277 people are being sheltered. As of Monday, Jan. 22, Denver has supported 37,844 migrants from the southern border at a cost of more than $40 million. Denver is currently operating seven non-congregate migrant shelters for newcomers as well as two congregate shelters for migrants experiencing homelessness. This research study should take about 11 weeks of your time. You will be asked to visit the clinic about 8 times (possibly a few more) and there is a follow-up phone call at the end of the study. During the course of the research study, you will have a physical exam and lab tests, give urine and blood samples, do alcohol breathalyzer tests, answer questions and complete questionnaires, have two fMRI scans, and take study medication.
